How Often does your Men’s Ministry Meet?:  Monthly

Meeting, Day, Time, Location:  1st Thursday of Each Month @ 6:30 P.M. for dinner Meeting provided by one of the Sunday School classes in the church.

MINISTRY AREA:  

EVANGELISM:  

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT:  Participated in a Devotional Study for the month of April in conjunction with Earth Day. Read the and discussed the book “Green Church – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rejoice” by Rebekah Simon- Peter. Also did a daily devotional in relation to Earth Day and Stewardship of the Earth. Highly recommend this book and all that can be done to be better Christian stewards of the Earth we have the privilege to be a part of for a time and perhaps leave it better than we found it for future generations.

PRAYER ADVOCACY:  

HUNGER ADVOCACY:  Participated in a Stop Hunger Now event at our church and provided a substantial amount of the required funding to host the event.

MISSIONS:  Raked and Clean Gutters for several home-bound members; Headed a church-wide clothing drive for the Chattanooga Rescue Mission which is a homeless organization serving both men and women in the Chattanooga area. Unload trucks and stock shelves during the Mothers Day Saturday Postal Food Drive at the Rossville Community Ministries which is a Food Bank serving the Rossville area

The Catoosa County Sherriff’s Department in support of the Toys for Tots Campaign. Dale Grisso – Chattanooga Rescue Mission Mountain Top Boys Home Representative Catoosa County Habitat for Humanity Monetary Donations made to each of these organizations.

List Men’s Special Activities in your Church and Community: A Hot Dog and Chili Supper to raise money to benefit a member of our United Methodist Men’s group who passed away and who did not have a plan in place for burial costs. The Hot Dog Supper and Gospel Sing raised close to $2,200 to offset the costs incurred for the services provided by the funeral home. Park Cars for the Lake Winnepasaukah fireworks – Parking and hot dog proceeds help the UMM of Newnan Springs to do the projects throughout the year that we do. Sponsor the Fathers Day bulletin for persons in the church to memorialize and/or honor Fathers and special men in their lives.
