How Often does your Men’s Ministry Meet?:  twice a month

Meeting, Day, Time, Location:  Men’s prayer breakfast the first Tuesday at 8:00 AM Annie’s restaurant in Ellijay. Men’s fellowship dinner meeting, the third Tuesday at 6:30 PM at Shane’s Rib Shack in Ellijay.

MINISTRY AREA:  

EVANGELISM:  

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT:  A devotion is provided at each breakfast meeting and prayer concerns are shared. A men’s retreat was conducted in March in which 20 men participated. We watched the movie Courageous and held a discussion afterward. The weekend also included discussions on the Holy Spirit and prayer. communion and a fo.ot washing were included

PRAYER ADVOCACY:  One outcome of the retreat was to begin meeting with the pastors each Sunday morning and praying with and for the pastors.

HUNGER ADVOCACY:  Several of our men are active in the Community Food Pantry. We partnered with Cartecay UMC in a Feed the Hungry activity September 2013 in which 20,000 meals were prepared.

MISSIONS:  Several men participated in a short term mission trip to west Virginia 2013 where we helped make repairs to several homes. Will continue financial and physical support of GRASP (Gilmer Relief and Service Project) June 2014.

PRISON MINISTRY:   

SCOUTING:  We continue to support the local boy scout troop.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:  Three individuals attend the UMM gathering in Nashville. Five individuals attended Rock Eagle 2013. Had one individual participate in LUMC 2013-2014.

COMMUNICATIONS:  Generally use email as primary communication medium. Also use weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter
