Meeting, Day, Time, Location:  1st Saturday of each month, 9:00 AM; church Fellowship Hall

MINISTRY AREA:  

EVANGELISM:  Church Mission Statement: ” Welcoming strangers to be strangers no more.” We are working very hard to lead men to Christ. This is not done overnight but is executed through a series of evangelistic events.

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT:  Men of the Fort are becoming involved in Lay Servants Ministries, directly or indirectly. They are taking the leadership in their own way by helping others to develop their skills, from the area of finance to the feeding programs that we have here at the Fort. I am helping the men to develop leadership through small groups.

PRAYER ADVOCACY:  Prayer service is led by Wesley Brown every Friday night. He truly has a story to tell. This is a program that was started by Wesley Brown and Bill Carson. A recovery group has grown out of the leadership of these individuals. After many years, Wesley is coming into the Lay Speaking Program.

HUNGER ADVOCACY:  We have 2 feeding ministry at the Fort. There are several men in the community who attend to the service and are faithful workers. They relate very well to the individuals and keep them in line in a spiritual way. Danny, one of our Servant Leaders who helps with the feeding ministry at Common Ground.

MISSIONS:  We are no Big Shot, we are just a bunch of little shots who keep on shooting trying to make a difference in our church and community.

DISASTER RESPONSE:  Men of the Fort are becoming involved in Lay Servants Ministries, directly or indirectly. PRISON MINISTRY:   We have yet to start.

SCOUTING:  Dormant – It is difficult to get boys involved with so many outside interests.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:  We lead by example under the direction of Rev. Dr. Joseph Crawford. men are encourage to develop their speaking skills as they lead in devotional service at our monthly breakfast.

COMMUNICATIONS:  Our men’s group are getting older and they have variety of health issues. We are doing our best to keep in contact and get them to our men’s breakfast or a worship service. Cards are mailed to the sick and shut in.

List Men’s Special Activities in your Church and Community: Our annual Men’s Day is a activity we use to raise funds to aid in the building of God’s Kingdom. This event will take place, November 15, 2015 at the 10:00 AM hour. Our Prayer Breakfast is a celebration to honor a who has exceeded in the giving of his time and talents. This event will be held on November 14, 2015. In June we take our annual retreat to Epworth by the Sea for our annual spiritual retreat. This retreat is open to all denominations. Different men are given the opportunity to plan and implement an event as it relates to God’s word.
